"Simply the best. Thrones books remain the best books around along with also being the best series around. If you haven't read the books, do it. If you haven't watched the show, do it. Cannot reccomend any higher. "

"So I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan and have watched every season twice. My friend suggested I read the books. He was not wrong, IT IS AMAZING. The stories go much deeper and the character development is awesome. Would recommend for any GOT fans that want and hate waiting for new seasons."

"I LOVE GAME OF THRONES! The series is absolutely beautiful, and now that it's over, I really wanna get started on the books but im a lazy reader. I checked this one out and it's really the best audiobook for traveling esp since it has a great plot, it's long and takes time! The voice actor speaks really great too!"

"A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) would have to be honestly a cult classic and the best fantasy and action book I have ever read. It is the first novel of many in the A Song of Ice and Fire series and it has been remade into the popular Game of Thrones TV show which has been wildly popular. If you are a fan of the show, you will absolutely love the books as it gives you more in-depth information about characters and stories that are not broadcasted in the TV series. I would highly recommend you read it if you are a fan and even if you're not, you will surely enjoy this book and the others in this series. "

"Feed your GoT hunger with A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1) - this book grabbed my attention and kept me turning pages in a binge until I finished the it! Definitely the best fantasy tale for adults, George R. R. Martin never disappoints."

"It seems obvious, but that is because it is true. GRRM is always a great go-to in this genre. The only fantasy I've loved more is the Malazan series. "

"One of the best opening books I've read hands down. I read this shortly before it hit TV and it really dives a lot deeper than the show ever covers. You can get a lot of side and full world lore out of this."
  • Joseph Johnson

"Simply the best, we all know this story but the book manages to capture it in a way that immortalizes the characters and manages to make us feel any amount of good and bad feelings. Highly recommended"

"I read this after everyone was giving rave reviews to the television series (I almost always read the book first). It's a fantasy story that almost everyone can enjoy. They do contain a lot of violence and sexual/taboo topics, so it's not on the list for your children."

"This is the best novel EVER! I can't stop reading...want to know what is next. So believable and intriguing. I never read books twice, but with this one I will."

"With the Game of Thrones trend as popular as it is, I decided to hop on the bandwagon and read the series. Fantasy is my favourite genre, so it just made sense to start reading them. I was instantly hooked. The shifting point-of-views show what's happening all over Westeros and Essos to get a full immersive picture of the world. If only the series were finished, though. It's been a long wait between books. "

"There are no shortage of fantasy books out there, both new and old, but this is easily one of the best series in the genre. It is an epic tale with lots of intrigue, action and twists that is a perfect way to get people into the fantasy genre."

"You know this is probably a popular opinion, but I don't like the game of thrones books. I think they're long-winded, and there's a lot of weird stuff in them like incest and straight up pedophilia. Yuck."
    Justin Lopez

"Game of Thrones is one of the most overrated series out there. It's full of nothing but mindless killing and incest. This is the worst type of fantasy."
  • Barbara Jones

"Nowadays there's no getting away from Game of Thrones, everyone from the office to the gym talks about the HBO series. Whether you have watched every episode or have no idea what they're talking about, I'd highly recommend the books. A Song of I've and Fire in particular offers character development sorely lacking from the television series; it's hard to put down, and will leave you hungry for more. Lucky for you, this is just one book in an excellent series!"

Martin has launched a genuine masterpiece, bringing together the best the genre has to offer. Mystery, intrigue, romance, and adventure fill the pages of this magnificent saga, the first volume in an epic series sure to delight fantasy fans everywhere."

"Absolute classic! This is a must read if you at all enjoy the TV show or are a sci-fi fan. There are a lot of details that didn't make the show and I found something new every time I read this. I read the whole series about once a year, and I can't recommend it highly enough."
