"Classic! Good read! Many people will enjoy this one! Well written book by a real professional."

""A Streetcar Named Desire" is a solid play in and of itself but how good is it as a book, one might ask... I'd say, those characters aren't made only for the paper. They are too explosive and too powerful to be contained on the book pages. This is a play which was meant to be experienced not in a book form, but on a stage... "

"Reading A Streetcar Named Desire was a pleasure because of author's masterful writing and the unique characters. I can't think of one issue with this piece and think that it is a classic that all people need to read or see the play."
  • Jack Sims

"I admire this book deeply since there is so much going on underneath the surface of a dialogue. The character of Blanche is deeply rooted in pathos and tragedy because of the deep differences in her opinion on what the world should be and what it actually is. It is relatable to every human at some level."

"A Streetcar Named Desire is an excellent read. Although I struggle with calling it a book, it can be read as such even though it's truly a play. Easily one of the best works to come out of the 1940s in any format."
  • Linda Reed

"I remembered reading and watching this in high school, and I'm happy that I've found it once again. The story really takes me back and makes me feel like I'm really in that time period. "

"In searching for the best books with covers that feature nakedness, I stumbled upon "A Streetcar Named Desire". This does not feature nakedness on the cover so it was a flop."

"This book was good and I love the story line of the sister helping her with her abusive husband."

    "Southern woman is always devoting"
  • Frank Cook

"While I'm a big DuBois fan, I wouldn't say this novel is "Southern Gothic". A Streetcar Named Desire is a southern play, not a Gothic. Therefore, while I would recommend the novel, it really doesn't meet the category requirement."
  • Eugene Crawford

"A Streetcar Named Desire does a great job with portraying the theme of alienation. Blanche is the perfect example of someone who has been alienated by her peers. Truly a classic that everyone should read."
  • Amit Mittal

"While a great and iconic play I was looking more for book to read."
