"I love the illustrations of the manga "Abandon the Old in Tokyo". I also like the historical aspect as it is set in 1960 Toyko. The stories in the manga are sad and at times tragic but interesting. I believe that is what is makes them interesting and great."

"Abandon the Old in Tokyo is a great graphic novel that explores some of the more disturbing aspects of humanity. The story is deep while the illustrations are simple. This isn't your typical comic book but it is fantastically put together. I am very much looking forward to completing the series."

"Tatsumi is a legend at this point, but for those that aren't familiar, he's one of the most respected authors of gekiga manga, and does his own illustrations, as well. I've enjoyed everything he's ever produced, and anyone who's familiar with his work will like Abandon the Old as well."
