Cas Lowood is a girl who has inherited the same vocation her father had: they loved killing the dead. After her father was killed by one of these ghosts, she started using his athame, and she travels the country killing for good any undead. One day, Cas, her mother and her cat arrive to a town where their services were needed: they had to kill Anna Dressed in Blood, a girl who was still wearing the dress she was wearing when she was brutally murdered back in 1958.

"This book is very compelling and hard to put down. There are twists and turns that take the characters on many paths. The plot is excellent as is the writing. I found myself wanting not put the book down until I finished it."

"After reading a few of the one and two star reviews I'm going to suppose that when those readers got wind of a "romance" between the ghost and the hunter they would be treated to a Twilight re-tread. No! Thank the heavens and the praise the saints of good authors this is not so! Kendare Blake has managed to come up with a brilliantly unique take on the paranormal, ghost busting and the laws of attraction. But what I really loved about Blake's writing is her intent on telling a really good story, this is not another novel written in screenplay format with fingers crossed that it gets picked up for a movie deal. Blake has a wonderfully developed universe in her head and she plays it out on the page old school in character development, a well plotted storyline with several surprise twists and she dare's to focus on the grisly details of a good ghost story making this a horror story first with a dash of romance much to the lead characters chagrin. (trustme that part is actually touching and funny, right in the middle of a blood bath.)"

"This novel by Kendare Blake was truly hard to put down. If you're a fan of fiction and ghosts and gruel you'll adore this one! Cas is a ghost killer, just like his dad. He roams the countryside, searching for his next kill. However, Anna dressed in blood is no ordinary ghost. I was hooked until the end, wondering if he'd kill her or even if she'd kill him or if both would die. Her story was so intriguing I couldn't put the book down and the ending will take your breath away! Beautifully written and expertly told, Anna Dressed in Blood is a great young adult a book I'd highly recommend!"

"Poorly written, Gore, G-D **mn, f-word throughout. Shame on the author for labeling this appropriate for teens!Read "The Hate List*" instead if you want a timely well- written book for teenagers."

"Anna Dressed in Blood is the first book in the series Anna Dressed in Blood Series by Kendare Blake. While most readers see a run-up of a "romance" between the ghost and the hunter as the storyline of the book and think that they would be treated to a Twilight re-tread. Apparently, this book deviates from that boorishly overused story line."

"I have a nephew who likes scary things, but he also doesn't like to read. Therefore, I thought I'd take a look at some short books. This one, while it fits the scary part of what I'm looking for, isn't very short. At over 300 pages, I think it's a bit too long to hold his focus. It might take him a number of weeks. "

"A snappy, creative title is the best way to catch my intrigue and almost guarantee that I'm going to read your book. This was so true with Anna Dressed in Blood. That title alone is what made me pick up the book and buy it and I'm so glad that I did!"

"U=I loved this, it reminded me of the anita blake series. Cas is a ghost hunter, the book is riveting. I love that this story was told from a male POV. You don't really see that very often, and it was a nice change. The author did a great job getting inside Cas's head and made him a good narrator. This is the kind of book that, although is fun to read, has a major creepy feel to it too, along with some gore. I think the author did an amazing job with that, as I'm sure it wasn't easy to accomplish! I am very much looking forward to book two to see what happens!"
