"Athena the Wise takes age-old myths and puts a modern twist on them. Bullies, crushes, and differences in people are all highlighted in the book, and my twin daughters both love this. I have a feeling it will be read quite a few times."

"My daughter really liked this book! It was funny and was a very good read for her. I would highly recommend for any younger girls!"

"Ever since I was a kid I loved reading about Greek mythology. I'm not sure if it was after watching Clash of the Titans that did it, or if it was just my parents always telling me stories about Greek gods and goddesses. There was always something so alluring and mysterious about them that got me really into Greek mythology. As an adult now I often find myself going through book stores online and in store looking for anything Greek mythology related. I recently ran across Athena the Wise and decided to pick it up for my kids. I thought this was such a good starting point for my children to get into Greek mythology. Joan Holub and Suzanne Williams did a wonderful job in detailing the adventures of Athena in this fantasy book directed girls. I've always felt in Greek mythology the goddesses get overlooked and are often underrated. It's such a huge positive to see a series of books geared towards Goddesses and aimed for children. I loved the cute cover artwork and the story is very easy and fun to read. I'm going back to grab the other books in this series and I hope there will be more. These are a valuable and very impressionable on children especially girls. This is something we should look forward to more often."

"This is a great book for kids and a really accessible and understandable way to introduce them to greek mythology in a way they can understand."

"I purchased Athena the Wise for my niece, and she really seemed to enjoy it. She said that the characters were interesting and she liked the story, so if you have a young girl you need to purchase a gift for, this seems like it would make a good choice."

"Very good book for young girls, it is clever, humorous, and inspired by the Greek goddess of wisdom, Athena! Good lessons intertwined with a bit of magic and fairy tale world of mythology. It features well-known Greek mythology characters such as Aphrodite and Artemis. The setting takes place at the Mount Olympus academy. Wonderfully illustrated and colorful!"

"I bought this book for my niece and she LOVES it. That being said, she's 7. This series is geared toward the 8-12 year old crowd, so it really wouldn't be a good choice at all for young adults looking for a good greek mythology read."

"Athena the Wise is a great book to introduce kids to mythology. When you think about it, mythology is fairy tales for adults anyway."

"This is more of a kids book than a young adult book, so it's not what I was looking for. For kids, I think this would be a good book to get into longer books."

"This book has lots of wonderful mythical creatures. If that is what you are looking for you should check this out."

"There are many great fiction and non-fiction books that are based on mythology but Athena the Wise is definitely not one of them. It might be a nice way to have mythology on children books to introduce the kids a new world but these book cannot be considered as the best in their genre."

"I love this book personally. It's got some good qualities about it and everything has a purpose in the world it exists in."
