"This is an interesting fiction book, that describes an interesting story with unique characters and situations. It is very easy to be adsorbed by the story because the style of writing is very descriptive and you will imagine the situation very easily. I suggest reading this book during vacations, and i am sure that you will have a very good time with it. "

"I feel changed after reading this book. So complex, so painful, so painfully beautiful, such life in the telling of this story. As a Black queer womyn, I have grown tired of the handling slavery narrative. Of the laziness of its use and overuse as a point of reference. But what Morrison does so well is bring life to the complexities of Black life and love in the face of the worst part of American history. I would even go as far to say, it goes beyond the political. It circles down to the smallest particles of her characters' lives and inner self-talk/workings. I don't even know if this review will capture all that I think and feel and see after reading this book."

"I would have to say that I love and hate the book Beloved all at the same time. I hate the cruelty of the story, but I love that it is written so well. This book is truly fascinating. The story is difficult to read if you are a sensitive person, but it is worth it. Beloved is an outstanding book."

"Toni Morrison's writing isn't just "great". It is mind-blowing. This book contains very, very, very heavy story. A woman was born a slave and escaped slavery, still eighteen years later the memory as slave still taunting her. I could never reread this book because it's really painful story. Highly recommended. "Beloved was an interesting read that cannot summed up as any one type of book. While it's a period piece it's also a ghost story, and a story of loss and pain and what lengths people will go to protect others. This book has stuck with me since I read it, there's so much depth here it's amazing."

"I love Beloved and I love Toni Morrison! I think this is one of her best works, but not the only one, that's for sure. The language she uses and the characters she creates form a tapestry with depth and richness and fullness. Wonderful."

"The sitting that the author creates is so freighting. Perfect for ghost hunting. The authors depth of writing for a ghost tale is unheard of. "

""Beloved" is bleak but powerful. The elements that make it a work of "magical realism" include supernatural occurrences as well as a sort of impressionistic and dream-like quality to parts of the narrative. It tells the story of the post-slavery period in America through some differing perspectives that are just begging to be heard. It is not an easy read for a number of reasons, but it is quite an important book."

"This book was very hard for me to follow. Most of the time I had no idea what was going on or if the narrator was describing the present or a flashback. There were also quite a few scenes/lines that had little to no sense at all. Like the part where Sethe has to pee, but can't make it to the outhouse. The act of her peeing is very graphically described, but it had no purpose. It was never brought up again by anyone in the story. Nothing to do with Cornell in the body of the work."

"Beloved is a great book about the colonial and post colonial time. This is a great historical fiction novel. This book was nominated as one of America’s best-loved novels by PBS’s The Great American Read. This book is highly rated with 4 out of 5 stars."

"There is no objectively accurate answer to the question of what is the best book ever written by a female author. It is impossible to answer that even if we are specifically pointing out the certain genres but this book by Toni Morrison is nothing special. Just a mediocre piece of writing which is regarded as classic by a small group of readers. There's nothing breathtaking about it. "

"It is unclear what is meant by racial discrimination but since this is a pulitzer prize winning novel about slavery I would imagine this fits perfectly with what I am looking for. I can't imagine a more relevant result."

"This is one of those books where, if you have no taste or standards, you'll absolutely love. One of those pink-hat wearing freaks threw this at me. I thought perhaps it was their way of communicating, so tried to read a bit of it. Turns out, they didn't want to break a brick, and was just throwing trash. "

"Beloved is a wonderful, important story told by one of America's best writers. I do have to say it was not my most favorite of her fiction books, (I would argue that this is not her magnum opus) - but it is still very important. It can take some patience to get into the story and tease out the time line, but like any masterpiece - it is well worth the effort. It's a must read for most Americans - particularly today. I run a girls group in town and highlighted a few passages for the girls (I thought it was that important). "

""Beloved" represents a well above-average pick for this particular category. This work is considered very well crafted, enlightened, emotionally engaging, and true to the history of slavery and its effects upon both slaves and their masters. This work was ultimately developed in to a major motion picture of the same title. This book has been awarded very high ratings by a wide variety of readers, and most consider it a timeless read. "

"What a great book! I just read Beloved and I think it's one of the best multi-ethnic American literary works that I have read. Toni Morrison wrote a beautiful, sad, compassion, love and many more emotions. At times it's hard to read because of the evil doings of people but you just don't want to put the book down. "

"A wonderful book that opens one's eyes to a multi-ethnic culture and relationships. It has a very good plot and good character development. I was transformed into the time period and understood the hardships that the characters faced. "
