What the community says about Censorship and Sexuality in Bombay Cinema
- AnonymousWritten on April 24, 2018"I have been studying bollywood for a long time. There are a lot of great books written about the subject. The new book by Monika Mehta is not one of them. Her book Censorship and Sexuality in Bombay Cinema is poorly informed, poorly written, and over all sees to be more fiction then fact. "

This book is designed for someone already knowledgeable in it so watch out! My aunt bought me this book for my birthday because she knows I'm a film major, but I don't know anything about Bollywood. At least, I didn't. This book offers a historical perspective with just enough background for anyone to understand basically what's going on and how the movie industry is vitally tied to Indian culture. Pretty interesting."

It is just a film maker Monika Mehta that studies how certain scenes, for example, sex, censorship, and debates in a movie effect peoples mentalities during the film."
