"I never thought that Charlotte's Web was targeting Christian women. But, I'm not a Christian, and possibly not a woman, so what do I know. But I do know that kids read Charlotte's Web, and I'm guessing that they don't necessarily think of themselves as Christian women, probably just as kids. It's a good book, though, and worth reading. "Charlotte's Web is a great classic. I read it as a child and fell in love with Wilbur. It was the first book I read as a child that humanizes animals, and I find it fantastic. Since then, I have gone on to read many more fantastical stories focus on animals, but Charlotte's Web remains close to my heart. The story is so heartbreaking in the end that it has left a lasting effect on me now as an adult. I can't wait for my daughter to come of reading age so I can purchase this book for her. "

"Charlotte's Web is a classic children's story, and E.B. White graduated from Cornell University. The story is wonderful, but itself has very little to do with the college. You can see the writer's education come through in his work though. He uses a lot of restraint in his language so to appeal to children, but the construct is quite charming and moving."

"I read this book as a middle school student and now my own children have read the book as well. This is truly one of the classics of American literature and is a story that every child resonates with. I really love the interactions between Fern, Wilbur and Charlotte that occur throughout this book. My youngest daughter was so enamored with this book that she read it four times over the course of last year. I have given this book as a gift to other middle school age children as well as the book is such a family favorite for everyone."

"Charlotte's Web is nothing short of an absolute classic. It has influenced so much of my life and so many people I have recommended it to absolutely love it and find true meaning in the story of Charlotte and Wilbur. I especially like White's style of writing, almost cinematic in it's narrative. I reread it as often as I can and find something new to like in the narrative each time."

"I had forgotten how sad the ending was but how uplifting. Charlotte is a spider who befriends Wilbur the pig. Fern loves Wilbur whom she and Charlotte protect from being sent to the slaughterhouse. Templeton the rat helps and is the comic relief. I loved this book but I needed a box of Kleenex. It is so well written. The author pulled me into his world. I was so caught up in the story. The characters are wonderful. The humor is subtle but there. I could picture Templeton at the carnival. It is a great book."

"I found this book while looking for a book to satisfy a topic on a college reading list. I needed to find a book written in 1952. At first I was really upset and thought I would end up reading something really boring. That was until I realized that Charlotte's Web was written in 1952 by E.B. White. I never read this book as a child and boy am I glad I read it now! This book transformed me back into a young child with the dramatic imagery in the writing. I found myself engrossed in the characters and plot. How could you not love little Wilbur or Charlotte and lets not forget Templeton! If you have children PLEASE read this to them. They will be so in love with these characters! Perfect bedtime story, whether youre an adult or a child. "

"Charlotte's Web is just the perfect classic for the burgeoning reader. It is a story we all know and maybe like me you've seen the movie, but not read the book. Reading the book is a better experience than the movie and full of rich writing. I was hesitant reading a children's book at first, but I did find it to be a pleasant read."

"I am not sure this is a true Christian book, but it's a great read for any child and any religion. That shouldn't matter. It has a great story and lesson, and I think it's perfect for any third grader looking to challenge themselves. I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's good. "

You don't notice the efforts of the writer at all. It's simply an exquisite narrative that has held up beautifully and should be on every child's reading list."

"Charlotte's Web can be classified as animal fiction. However, I would place Charlotte's Web as an elementary school read, possibly middle school. It is not a Young Adult book. It belongs to a much lower grade of reader."

I remember being little and thinking how smart I was for knowing that Araneus cavaticus was Charlotte's scientific name. And now my granddaughter loves the book too!"

It was turned into a film about a decade ago and so that makes this one story of the best children's books that turned into a movie. E.B. White writes a timeless tale that is sure to be enjoyed by kids and adults alike."

The author uses child-friendly words so it could be easily understood by kids. Just that I don't think this book is good for preschoolers."

This is one I would absolutely recommend to any new parent, or any parent with a child that has not yet read this wonderful tale. There are certainly sad elements to it, including the death of a character, but that is one of the things that makes this an enduring classic."
