What the community says about Clear Water
- "Clear Water is a fun gay romance novel for college students and other readers looking for an enjoyable light read. While Patrick was sympathetic enough, I definitely found Whiskey to be a far more interesting, original and compelling character, with a better-developed backstory. While I realize that Patrick’s story of trying to cram himself into a “box” that doesn’t fit who he is is a common one for young gay men, at times his story arc can feel a little predictable — we’ve definitely seen his character type before, although he’s also a great example of how to write a character with ADHD. Whiskey, on the other hand, brings a fresh new perspective as a biologist living in beautiful but isolated surroundings, and you can really tell how his scientific background shades his worldview. Sex scenes were good but nothing extraordinary. On the other hand, at least it doesn’t get stuck under the weight of its own angst — I like my romance novels fairly light and cheery."
- "A very interesting look at someones personal life as well as commentary on how society attempts to change people. I really enjoyed reading through this easy read as the character is very much likable and the writing accessible. I listened to the audiobook partly as well and both were great."
