"Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices) is my favorite in this trilogy. This is more geared towards the teen readers. It is a really well written story that transcends the genre for all demographics. I found myself reading and couldn't put it down. "

"Its okay. I love books that feature the supernatural, but, don't care for romance novels. This book is a pass for me."
  • Eugene Barnes

"When a trilogy turns into a 6 book series via prequels, you have to pause before investing your time. Is the author just cashing in on previous success? Well, I'm happy to say that this first in a prequel trilogy delivers beyound your fears. "

"A typical romance novel in some ways but a version for smarter people in other. This has the basics for a romance novel but also some depth of characters and the places where they come from. Not my first choice on genre but a decent compromise book for the husband or boyfriend of the romance novel fan. "

"This was a great first book in what I hope will be a great series (or at least trilogy.) The story is about a girl discovering a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, which is modeled after some of the classic secret societies of the 19th and 20th centuries, with a demonic twist. It really is very interesting and entertaining."

"Hidden within this book is potential because the idea that the series stems from is intriguing. But that's not the focal point of the author. Instead, it's full of filler describing dull character's inner monologues about a cliche-ridden romance."

I was looking for something exciting and magical to share with them while they read at night. I found this amazing book called "Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices)" which is an amazing fantasy and romance fiction novel by Cassandra Clare that allows adults to use their imagination by following the story of Tessa Gray and her confrontation with a secret society called the Pandemonium Club. My daughters absolutely love the stories. Thank you!"

"Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices) does not serve so much as crime and murder book as much as it serves as a fantasy. While it can be said that murder does take place in the story per se, it is a magic-driven fantasy-land murder that doesn't necessarily fill the niche that many crime lovers may be looking for."

"Clockwork Angel is a pretty good book if you are looking for steampunk stories with strong women characters. The author's style is a little wordy and lengthy, rather than concisely organized ideas. Overall, I really enjoyed this book."
  • Johnny Hayes

"Clockwork Angel is the first in the prequel trilogy to the Mortal Instruments series, set in London during the late 1800s. There are a lot of Shadowhunter family names that are recognizable if you have read the Mortal Instruments first, as well as a few characters that were seen in those books. This was a fun read. The characters are well rounded, each one is distinct. Cassandra Clark leaves you wanting more."

This is a great novel that has great writing, amazing characters that are well developed, and a cliff hanger that has me unpaitently waiting for the next book. "This is just more of the Hunger Games esque teen girl fantasy novels. This one seems to be pretty popular but its honestly just more of the same nonsense. Avoid this unless you are a 14 year old girl."

"A MUST read for fans of The Mortal Instruments. Some believe it is just a prequel to The Mortal Instruments, but it is much more than that. Neither book has to be read to understand the other. One could read this and not be confused whatsoever. Clockwork Angel never has a dull moment, keeps you intrigued until the very end. I stayed up way later than I should on work nights because I didn't want to put it down "

"This book is captivating from the very start. Author Cassandra Clare does a fantastic job of world-building, not just the Shadow World, but also the world of London during this time period. I easily find myself transported there. I love the characters. Tessa is lovable, interesting, and a complete mystery. She loves to read, and often displays her knowledge of great literature. Will is the handsome, brooding warrior… his heart inside a self-built fortress. He, also, is a voracious reader with a nearly photographic memory. He is often quoting lines from literature that fits the situation in which he finds himself. Jem is the Prince Charming who is flawed. He is kind, loving, and caring. He is also the most tragic of the three because of what he endures. These characters are complex, and I find myself easily attached to them. Even the ancillary characters are developing toward a complexity. The story is full of action, friendship, and a different sort of family. It is also a testament to the politics at work in any organization, even one with a mandate. All of the elements, large and small, make this a story worth reading over and over. The little details draw me in, and make me want to stay with the Shadowhunters in their Institute. This book would make an excellent movie… if the movie follows the feel, facts, and circumstances of the book. "

"If you love the Mortal instruments, then you will enjoy this series as well. I personally like this series better! I love the characters and its cool to see a couple of familiar faces from the original series. This first book will get you hooked! And if you haven't read the Mortal instruments series before, that's okay, you won't be lost at all about what's going on. If you have read the original series, you will enjoy seeing how things fall into place and connect to each other."
