"Fantastic thriller by John Connolly. The main character is trying to solve the murder of his family with the help of come criminals and a young psychologist. Whats great about this book is the gripping descriptions of the murder scenes. Every strong thrilling suspense book needs to have deep, dark descriptions come into play, and this book no doubt meets its mark there. "

"This one isn't really so good if you are looking for science fiction, but as detective novel I found it engaging and it carried me along. I hadn't read that many in this genre but I figured I would give this one a shot, since I love to read new stuff. I found myself fully immersed in the world that was described and it was fairly fleshed out and pretty dense. The contrast between NYC and Louisiana worked well, and the characters seemed alive. I finished in two days, and would certainly be willing to read another by Charlie Parker."
