What the community says about Fingersmith
- "A great historical fiction novel that fresh and different. The author wrote a smart, interesting story filled with real to life and quirky characters that are very relatable. This story instantly grabs the reader and this book is hard to put down. Highly recommended!"
- "Sarah Waters is a hit or miss author if you ask me, I have read a lot of articles regarding her style as an author and if you say she is a true hit or miss author, a lot of people will actually believe it. Fingersmith though is definitely a hit novel in my honest opinion, I have not read this one yet but my sister did, and I trust her judgement with books when it comes to fiction as always."
- "This book has all of the best elements of suspense, including old creepy mansions, thieves and cutthroats, and madhouses. Waters deftly describes the underbelly of London as well as the delineation between the lower and upper classes. Overall a well crafted story, and one I will revisit again."
- "This book represents many of the best qualities of the fiction genre. It is a complex, richly visualized, portrait of Victorian era England. But, more than that, it transcends the normal bounds of a period piece by moving further afield than drawing rooms and country estates, and explores niches of the era that the layman wouldn’t know exist."

in What are the best erotica books"This book has nothing to do with erotica. I was highly disappointed as I was really "horny" and was looking to get excited and perhaps get some action with my wife. This book was the total opposite of that, as it is a historical fiction novel. While interesting, it did nothing for my sexual appetite."
