"This was great 30 years ago when it came out, but so many of the recipes are old and dated now and no one really eats it. An update would be nice though, as at the time of release I imagine it was pretty top notch at highlighting the great food of a great country. "

"I had never really thought about Portuguese food before picking up this book. You're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but just look at that delicious dish on the front of it! I had to learn what it was and how to make it. It was a very interesting and mouth watering read. The only thing I didn't like was that there weren't enough photos of the different dishes in it. "

"This is not a good solution since it doesn't mention caribbean recipes."

"This book has beautiful photographs! That's what I love most about it. It also has great recipes though, with typically easy to find ingredients and easy to follow directions. If you love Portuguese food, then this is a great book for your kitchen shelf. If you are traveling to Portugal, you will also find some helpful tips about restaurants and culture there. "

"I bought this book last summer wanting to "spice things up" in the kitchen last summer. I was a little overwhelmed when I learned that nearly have of the book wasn't in English. The recipes were great but I didn't play on trying to learn a new language when I bought the book. "
