"Very touching and sentimental story of a grieving daughter who fulfills her childhood dream of becoming a falconer by training her very own hawk after her father's passing. A strange journey of taming a wild animal and finding one's spirituality and piece. It's definitely a very different and unexpected piece of literature! "

"As Helen mourns the death of her father, she finds a unique and inspiring way to cope with her grief. As Helen herself tells her own story about the long process of training a hawk. Helen has a way of keeping you captivated throughout her tale."

"I liked it. It was raw and powerful and really captured the realities of struggling with grief. It's emotional slog with no real break in the difficulties, so be prepared. But it's well worth it, there's a lot to take away from this book."

"Based on a true story, H is for Hawk, brought me along for a journey of peaks and valleys following the real life account of Helen Macdonald. It truly is a wonder how well animals serve to act as a source of therapy and consolation."

"I guess it's an ok book if you're into nonfiction. It's about a woman who trains gohawk which is a notoriously prickly bird of a prey. It'snot trivial to train such birds, but I guess she found some solace in the process because she was mourning her father's death. I can kind of relate. "

"This is a good book with an animal. It's not necessarily a fiction book, but a good one nonetheless. This will adequately fill the desires of people looking for a book on animals."
