"I don’t believe that the book “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone” is the best book for young adults, tweens, and teens, because even though it can spark a young person’s imagination, it contains information about witchcraft, wizardry, and magic that is not good for them to read. "

"Here's where it all began! Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a masterpiece, and it's one of the best because of it's superb plot. I personally have always preferred the books to the movies, and now that this book includes illustrations, the story really comes to life in a way that really fulfills the original's full potential. Whether you're a full-fledged Potterhead or brand new to the world of Harry Potter, this is a must-read book."

"This book speaks for itself. This series is one of the most well-known in the world. I live, love, and breathe for this series. I try to always collect the books in paperback, hardback, and now audiobook. The wonderful Jim Dale brings this series to life in a way I wouldn't have thought imaginable. I'd recommend it for anyone who would like to visit, or revisit, the series and needs a good audiobook."

"What can you say about this book that hasn't already been said? "Sorcerer's Stone" is a classic for a reason, and is a true example of J.K. Rowling's genius. Don't be fooled by the classification of 'teen'. This series will have children and adults on the edge of their seats."

"This book wasn't too bad, but it wasn't really what I was looking for either. I expected it to be more similar to Artemis Fowl, but the basic theme was pretty different. Harry Potter is more magic, while Artemis Fowl is more sci-fi. In the end, it was a good book, but it's not that similar."

"This is the book that started it all. People often say if you haven't heard of 'whatever' you are living under a rock. The statement is truly reality for the Harry Potter series. These books let you immerse yourself in a fantastic world of castles, magic, and wizards that everyone will find amazing. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the beginning of it all. You won't regret reading this book. I read them growing up and will be reading them to my kids one day."

"This is a great series to start reading with your kids, and it would probably work well to start with the first book and then work through each one over a period of years. I know my kids' eyes lit up when they learned there were more Harry Potter books to come. I don't think the later books are appropriate for younger kids, but as they age, the books will be more at their level."

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the first book of the series and the start of a wonderful relationship for anyone who is interested in a bit of fun, a bit of magic, and a long love affair with Harry Potter. It is an amazing read for both adults and young readers. I highly recommend this book to everyone and anyone. "

"I read "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" when I was a child. I actually kind of grew up with the series, but I would not rank this book among the most exciting novels ever written. I grant that it is a great childrens book with an abundance of memorable characters, but it is by no means an adrenaline pumping thrill ride. In my view this book would be more adequately characterized as a charmingly idiosyncratic romp with wands."

Like Percy Jackson, the story exists in a hidden world alongside ours, filled with curious characters and unusual situations."

"There's a couple of things that I really like about this book or this series of books for 13/14 year olds. One is that we all love stories where the young protaganist is adopted or somehow estranged from their parents. I believe it resonates with that part of our development where we seek our own individual identity separate from our families. There is also the fantasy element that sparks imaginations but young people focused on studies and working for some greater good rather than being focused on themselves or romance."

"Content wise, great book. Physical book however, is pretty disappointing. I think that a hard cover book should come pretty rigid and solid, and after years of use and passing it on through different generations, normal wear and tear of the binding and pages would be expected. This book however, came out of the box as limber as a newborn, which makes it super convenient when trying to read it laying in bed to my son as it flops back and forth like a ball at the Wimbledon. I've seen other reviews stating this issue, and I was hoping I would luck out and get a nice solid hard cover of one of my favorite stories from my youth to pass on to my son. Instead I got the book that was bound with a prayer and several pounds of limp noodles that I'm not certain will make it through Harry's final battle with Professor Q. "

"Fans of the Harry Potter series have some differing ideas about how the works rank - it seems like most fans tend to rank this particular one somewhere in the middle. Some trends seem to prevail in terms of how the author developed her writing style, but this decision mostly comes down to one's personal tastes, and none of the books are leaps and bounds ahead of or behind the others. I'd say this is probably not the best book in the series, objectively, but would still recommend it to someone trying to answer this question for themselves."
