"I love reading historical fiction, and my favorite setting is medieval England. I needed a really substantial book to sink my teeth into, and Ivanhoe was a fabulous option. I had no idea there were old historical fiction writers with classical literature acclaim. I thought most of it was modern paperbacks. I really enjoyed this read, and feel like I developed as a reader."

"I was looking for the best non-holocaust Jewish historical fiction books and came across this book. It was a great read and I highly recommend it to others. Very interesting."

"Who doesn't love George R.R. Martin these days? I mean, he gave us one of the greatest shows of all time. So I was hunting for books that he recommended. Ivanhoe was one of the top on the list. It's a pretty decent book, but I'm not a big fan of period pieces. I can see how someone else would love it, but it was a bit of a bore for me. "

"This is going to be a challenge to read. The language is going to be hard for some out there. If you can get through that, or have the patience to try, it will be worth it. Fans of this genre will enjoy this daring story that is filled with swords, lances and maidens. You will be thrown into medieval times when you pick this book up. Be patient and you will enjoy it. "

"The thing I love about the Outlander series is the mix of passion and the historical plot. I was hoping to find another series as good as this one. I'm not sure if Ivanhoe fits the bill. It is definitely a historical novel, but seeing as it was written in the 1800s it probably doesn't have much of a passionate love sub-plot. "

"I think that despite being a classic it is not so well ranked and it is not the best books about the Knights Templar since in the genre there are many other better ones."

"While Ivanhoe is free and would be considered one of the better ones to list for this topic, there are still a lot of versions that aren't free and this book would be far down on the list of those that are offered weekly. This still works but I don't think it's the best example of this topic."

"I first saw the movie before deciding to read the book. I find myself going back and forth from the movie to the book. This is a work of art. Great read."
