"I really wanted to love this book as much as the web series, but it seemed to drag on a bit for me. Maybe I am just not a very good reader but I would have expected more from Wong. I didn't hate it but I certainly wasn't thrilled either. "

"This is the novelization of the extremely popular web series. From the spoileriffic title on, this book is delight. It's horror, it's funny, you'll love it. It says it's for young adults but trust me, if you're an adult with a sense of humor, you'll enjoy!"

"John Dies at the End is a comedic horror that was so good they made into a movie. Creative conceot. I enjoyed the book and movie."

"I'd heard a lot about this in it's many forms and anything to do with Lovecraft is good in my book. the novel version however lacks a certain nature, maybe it's the cover."

"a twist on a classic horror novel. don't let the title fool you. there's a lot that goes on in this book."

"With a title like that, how could you not read the book. Honestly, I picked it up just to find out if the title was a lie or not, and ended up reading the entire thing. I am now a David Wong fan to the fullest."

"Far from a comic book. Comedic book, maybe, but not a comic book. The book was awful either way. Definite pass."

"Weird kind of sets the bar high as other worldly and strange by definition. So the question is how much of an element is of the bizarre, hard to comprehend, or reflective of a singular mind that is completely out there. One reviewer states It gets messy, but John Dies... keeps up the entertainment levels by shooting the rule book, waiting for it to reanimate and shooting it again for luck. Cultdom beckons. Cult status is a pretty good metric for weird. Good, has never particularly mattered. "

"I don't read works of fiction often, but the title caught my attention while browsing at a local book store. Without giving the plot away, the book had me riveted from beginning to end and I look forward to getting around to reading the sequel when I find the time."
