"I picked up this book after watching Leyla and Mecnun and was not disappointed. It tackles a lot of controversial issues and has a very dark and pessimistic tone but the author does a very good job of taking tragedies and spinning them in a comedic light."

"This novel keeps getting better as you read it! The writing style can be a little off putting due to slang and excessive exaggeration but in the long run it works!"

"I would recommend reading Journey to the End of the Night written by Louis-Ferdinand Celine. This book was written a long time ago, but the images that Celine invokes and his view of society at that time are very interesting."

"This book was even more depressing than "The Road." I definitely like me an anti-hero, don't get me wrong. This takes it to a whole new level. From WWI to his death in Paris having failed as a doctor, the hero Bardamu displays absolutely 0 redeeming qualities. While this might seem to provide entertainment for some, at some point it's just overkill."

"As far as French novels that are available to the English consumer goes, this is one of the best. This story sets an example that should still be read in our modern times. What is war, what is peace, and how can we benefit from the former? It is an only natural question that every human asks themselves from time to time. Anyone concerned with hypocrisy about the former and current state of the world should take the time to pick this novel up."

"One of the stand out books from L Louis-Ferdinand Céline looks at society contradictions. This classic fictional novel will bring you on a journey to the views of society from a generation ago."

"This was way more interesting than I thought it would be. Journey to the End of the Night is a great read about one man's journey through the first world war. The character has a morbid sense of humor, so be prepared for that. I give it two thumbs up, but it would be more if I had more!"

"A kind of strange with dark humor kind of book. One that is all over the place a bit but will still draw you in."
