"This novel is a wonderful read, Roald Dahl is a brilliant author who employs many plots twists in his books and Matilda is no exception. I loved the very clever way the story of the adoption of a child was told and I love the small supernatural element. However, parts of the book are a tad dark so I would suggest it for 10 and up. Overall, I love this story."

"Yes, this is a YA novel and the solution shows a pink cover, but that should not be why you purchase this book - or any other. The cover does not make the book, it the story. Having said that, this is a fine book for the YA crowd."

"This is a great book that talks about how much of an impact a teacher can have on a student's life. While this book is far from realistic, it has a meaningful message about the teacher and anyone looking for this topic would be happy with this result."

"What is there even to say about Matilda? I loved her as a child, young adult and as an adult. She is a strongheaded young woman facing awful adults. This is a story for the ages and one that I will definitely show my children. "
