"I never really enjoyed action books but I was recommended this by this list, so I tried it out. It was really good, especially the thrilling suspense, though the romance could have used a little more flare. "

"I never heard of a gay mystery book but Mexican Heat (Crimes & Cocktails) was pretty interesting. It was a real page turner."
  • Charles Ramos

"I know that what was lacking in my life was more romance between police officers and crime bosses. Gabriel is totally a slut, which is my kind of guy! I loved reading about the hookups in Mexican Heat, and hope to see the next book move to somewhere new on the globe."

"A spicy book that delves into a gay relationship and other distractions from it. A good plot and character development in the book as the surrounding characters are introduced. "

"Eh. Its ok. Has more crime elements than i wanted but overall it wasn't the worst thing i've read. It does have a good gay relationship angle, which is what i was after, so it isn't a total loss. I wouldn't call this the best of anything but it passed the time."

"I think the author aptly named this book (or at least including the word heat is apropos. This is a romance that focuses on two gay men. It's also a thriller, in that it's about crime, crime lords, and there's a fair bit of violence. It's also the first in a series, so if you like this one - there's more to read. This is a great book for m/m sex. "

"The book was well written and easy to read. The action was really gripping but I think the sex parts took away from, rather that added to, the story. I liked the story, could have done without the gratuitous sex."

"this books has some very strong language. story about Mexican that works for a big drug lord this book has some moderate sexual tension between Gabriel and rival drug lord if you like suspense and mystery and romance then this is a book for you."

"Book has very little reviews and is pretty dated. I wouldn't choose this book to read for this genre. "
  • Deborah Carpenter

"If you like romantic crime novels you won't be disappointed with this book. It has lots of steamy romantic scenes and keeps you in a state of anticipation for whats to come from start to finish. "
