What the community says about My Father Bleeds History (Maus)
- "This was recommended reading during my first freshman semester at college, and I am glad I chose to read it! So thought provoking, so through, and definitive while still leaving the reader to form their own opinions. I would make this mandatory reading, if there were such a thing."
- "My Father Bleeds History is not a book on my best of radar in the least. There are quite a few great comic books featuring anthropomorphic animals that I would recommend many times over before checking this out."
- "My daughter has just graduated High school so after the graduation party I thought I would send her books. The first one I sent was called My Father Bleeds History (Maus). She sent me a message telling me how much she liked it and would recommend it to others. It made me happy to know how much she enjoyed it.""I love to read graphic novels for young adults. My favorite right now is My Father Bleeds History (Maus). It's about the holocaust and Nazis and I love to read about WWII. It's really interesting and I love how the Nazis are cats and the Jews are mice. The art is really cool, too. Check it out!"

in What are the best books for teens"It's an emotional read, for sure, but teens need to know about history, especially such important history as this. I bought it because I wanted to teach my nephew about the holocaust and how the Jews were treated before and during WW2. It is a highly graphical novel, but I think it helps to convey the atrocities that were committed. I would recommend this for anyone's bookshelf, really."
