"This book is an absolute classic, yet still underrated somehow. It isn't the most stream-of-conscious of Kerouac's novels, but I won't argue that it belongs in the category. I would recommend this to a lot of people looking for this type of book as well."

"On the Road is sort of a novelized autobiography of Jack Kerouac. It loosely discusses the real life of Kerouac and his friend Neal Cassady as they take a road trip across the country. It is a fast moving book, but this version is a bit different from the original version that you can find. It still has a very free-form type writing style and if you enjoy that style you will love this bohemian book."

"On the Road is a great American novel about two friends who embark on a cross-country trip to find experience and meaning. It's a book that's written in such a way that differs from most other books and keeps readers fully engaged, wanting more. It'a a well-written book with great characters."

"Kerouac, just the name gives a feeling of prestige and confidence that what ever is behind the covers of the book ahead is nothing short of a masterpiece. Same holds true here. It gives a authentic look at of the journey of two friends."

"Kerouac's On the Road is one of the better novels about journeys on the road. It deals well with universal themes of self-discovery and freedom while on a road trip. A great read to have for the summer."

"On the Road is a book about a lifelong nomad's experiences on a road trip. It is a great read and the author is a very interesting figure. It's hard to understand the nomad lifestyle, but he makes it seem actually fun."

"On the Road is an amazing piece of work and generally considered to be the best work to come out of "The Beat Generation" writers. It has led to countless real-life road-trips in the quest for self discovery. Cannot recommend highly enough."

"This book sounds very promising. It sounds like it has a lot to offer and the fact that it's in autobiography is pretty cool. You know that the author has done the things in here at least per claim. The book title itself could be a little bit more interesting to draw attention a little bit better"

"This book was actually published in 1957, but it seems as though it rose in popularity in the 1960's and could be considered part of this topic. I think it's a good fit because it's about freedom, which was something the 1960's was all about. "

"If you are a fan of Kerouac, then "On the Road" will not disappoint. Like Hemingway, Kerouac only seems to get better with age. Recommend to anyone, especially those who may be first time Kerouac readers!"

"I am a huge Kerouac fan and this book did not disappoint. I enjoyed the book so much that I am seriously considering taking a well deserved vacation and hitting the road to experience some of the freedoms Kerouac describes in this book. On the Road will definitely go on the shelf in my library with the other classics I've collected. "
