"This is a pretty good telling of colonial works of the past. It has great critique, and an interesting perception."

"The book was published in the late seventies, so it is a bit dated. Still, it does do a good job at examining the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I am by no means an expect on the subject, but I felt that it was a very informative piece of work that certainly gave me a lot more knowledge on the topic. Plus, it's not a difficult read."

"It's very rare for me to venture into the non-fiction book section of the local store that I frequent, but one day I decided to give "Orientalism" a try just to see if it's any good. I read it back home during my break time and wow, this sure opened my eyes to something I never thought about before! Basically the book is about how the people of western culture view people from the east as different. Sometimes it's a little disturbing to think that we as a people viewed others that way, but this was really an important part of our development as a global society. It's long and sometimes it can sound too intellectual, but it's still understandable. If you're interested in other cultures, it would be in your best interest to check this book out!"
