What the community says about Perks of Being a Wallflower
- "Great book for adults and teens who enjoy realistic fiction. It takes you through the exciting journey in the life of a high school freshman to which many students can relate to. My daughter enjoyed this book as she read it over the summer and shared her thoughts on it with her class. ""This book will take the people to think from american high school experience. This book makes the person to refresh their memories."
- "The Perks of Being a Wallflower has strong following among st the Teen readers who adore this book. It is about trying to define yourself while trying to make choices while growing into who you are meant to be. It is honest in its heart break, and celebrates friendships and beginnings. It is funny and it is poignant, and it is worth the read. "

in What are the best books for teens"I've personally never read this book to completion or watched the movie, but I can't recommend it. What I have read of the book is really bad; the main character goes through too much and it's just not a good read for a teen, especially vulnerable ones. Get them something happier.""This is a good solution to the problem. However, it is only one book. It fails to take into account varying personal tastes.""This book is not a very well written piece and I don't suggest it for teens as it has more adult material to it."
- "This book is a cult classic for a reason! This is a book everyone can relate to, regardless of your age or experience. It is written as a series of letters to a friend, so the style is a little different, but it lets us into Charlie's deepest thoughts and feelings so that we can feel what he's feeling from his perspective. This book will definitely remind you of high school if you are older, and if you're in the thick of it now I'm sure you will relate. Definitely check out this easy and fun read, for something enjoyable and memorable. "
- "Perks of Being a Wallflower is a wonderful coming of age story, but it's really about high school. Although I'm sure it would be helpful for someone entering college, I wouldn't say it is a must read before college, when it's much more about capturing the time in high school."
