"Possession is a great victorian historical fiction novel. It is based on the travels of 2 victorians between London and Yorshire in Britain. The novel really captures the essence of Victorian England. I really felt like I was there and experiencing it all."

"This is a very well-written Victorian historical fiction. The story moves a bit slowly at times, but the characters are interesting and well-developed. I'd recommend this book, particularly if you enjoy historical fiction."

"I found this book to be a little tedious and slow. It didn't really capture my imagination or keep my attention very well."

"If you're a poetry lover this is the book for you. It contains a vast amount of poetry in it. Its also something that fans of the Victorian era will enjoy to read. However, this is not even close to being considered as best novel set in London. Too many classics out there that are way ahead of this book. Poetry lovers will enjoy but others will pass on it as I did after reading a few pages. "

"An interesting story of two academics who are researching poets. It really fits the historical fiction with literary meaning line. I found it by turns exciting, funny and romantic."

"Possession is a fantastic book and it is no surprise that it won the Man Booker prize. It does the genre justice and really captures what it means to be a neo-Victorian novel. It is an amazingly well written book. "

"A romance, literary detective story and satire, that delves deep into poetry and academia. This is an amazing book, but if anything I mentioned in the first sentence doesn't interest you, then you'll probably want to give it a pass. It's not a book that everyone will find engaging, but for those who do, it's a rare treat."

"The thing I liked about this book was that it felt almost real, an engaging nonfiction narrative. I made a connection with the characters, both the contemporary and the victorian ones. It started a little slow, but overall an enjoyable read."

""Possession" is an interesting piece, for sure! A historical drama, a supernatural thriller, and a romance in one, this is a great read for anyone who likes historical fiction. It follows two academics studying Victorian poetry, which sounds like the most boring premise ever, until they engage in acts like seances and explorations of fairy forests. Then it gets interesting!"

"This book has a lot of intrigue and mystery. I really enjoyed the plot of the book. It has a little bit of everything. Romance, mystery, travel, all of the things that make a book a good book. The writing is impeccable and the visuals presented as a result of the writing makes it a really engaging story overall. "

"I fell in love with the main character of this book who is an author himself. Set during the Victorian era I found myself engrossed in the world presented in this story and I lost all track of time like any book does."
