"I wanted to delve into African literature. Specifically African authors. While this was an interesting read, it was not what I was looking for. The author of this book is from the UK, actually! I take trips to Africa once a year, perhaps next time I will just pick up books while I am there."

"Red Dust Road is a fantastic novel coming from the underdog Jackie Kay. Every line is extremely poetic and wonderful. My wife and I were looking for a good African writer to read in honor of Black History Month and we stumbled upon this in the book store. It is a riveting tale and the best part is that it is all true! This autobiography will rock you to your core. It is positively excellent!"

"One of the most fascinating autobiographies I've read in a while. The author, the improbable offspring of a Nigerian student and a Scottish nurse, goes in search of her parents and finds herself caught between two worlds, yet manages to achieve success. Gripping read. "

"Very interesting book, it's a book with a lot of heart. This one keeps it honest and is a great biography about a woman's journey to find her loved ones and how she finds herself in the process. It can be a bit slow and times and it might feel like the book is losing its way but keep with it and it all comes together."
