"Rurouni Kenshin is one of the best mangas released before 2000. Now that the genre is so popular it is fun to look back at earlier releases and see the art that shaped the genre and how it has evolved. Rurouni Kenshin is an inspiring and interesting story that stands the test of time."

"As a fan of anything feudal Japan, or anything related to it, this is just so good! I read the first arc and am now well deep into the second arc, and the sword techniques and fighting styles just blow my mind!"

"One of the best Samurai manga series that I have ever written. Although it didn't run that long and was made about 20 years ago already, it featured one of best if not the best samurais to ever wield a sword."

"It's an intense and surprisingly romantic book for one ostensibly about swordsmen and swashbuckling. The characters are all right though the plot's just so-so, but the framing and design was magnificent."
