"One of the things I love most about Agatha Christie is how she inserts current events into her books. It really helps put you into the plot. Sad Cypress further fleshes out Detective Poirot. I'd even say it's the best of the series. I never saw the ending coming. "

"Sad Cypress has definitely held its appeal through the ages. The book is nearly 80 years old but is an entertaining read today just as it was when it was first published. In fact, it might be even more entertaining now because it is wildly fun to see just how much has changed yet remained the same in the world through the last few generations. Back to the story though, another great Christie book. It is a bit darker than usual, but it is definitely among my favorites of her works. "
