- "I found this to be a beautifully written retelling of an old fairy tale. It's very engaging, and I loved depth of the characters involved. Ms. George's storytelling style suits me I think. This is actually my first book of hers, so I will be looking at more in the future!"
- "This Norse fairy tale is somewhat similar to ‘Beauty and the Beast’, but with a polar bear mutating back and forth to a prince each night. It is appropriate for girls age 12 and up, and It is replete with images from Viking mythology and even has a glossary at the end. The heroine, simply know as ’lass’, encounters all sorts of of trolls, gnomes, and fascinating animals such as pikas and foxes on her frosty romantic journey. A wonderful love story!"
- "I never read books like this one before so I was new to this book. I liked it though. It's a fairy tale type of story but really well done. It's got everything a fairytale should have; princes, maidens, trolls etc. The character development is engaging and the imagery is beautiful. I love books that create imagery in your mind and pulls you into the story. This book did that for me. It makes the story all the more fun to read. I loved the characters of the book. They were each unique with their own unique dialogue. This is truly a magical book. "
- "I've always been partial to re-imaginings of fairy tales, so the idea of a retelling of Beauty and the Beast caught my eye when I was shopping around for books online. It was 'Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow' by Jessica Day George, and reviews were good, so I bought a copy. Unfortunately it turned out to be kind of a kid's book, and if that's what you want, it might be fine. I was looking for a darker, edgier, more adult retelling, and in that respect it wasn't so good."
