"I got this in hopes of being able to read it with my superman-obsessed kids. It's a good read, but a little bit dark and serious for most kids. Mine might enjoy it when they're in their teens."

"A friend was asking what's so great about Superman, and I gave them this. Superman's most comprehensive origin, solid art and great story-telling. Is it the best GN? Nah, but it's a really good entry point for Superman."

    "a wonderful classic"

"I think it is fair to say that everyone on planet Earth knows who Superman is. I remember growing up how intrigued I was by his superhero character. In The Man of Steel, the relationship between many heroes is brought together in the exploration of those relationships. This comic is one of my favorites because of those relationships. This is one comic you don't want to miss out on. I am glad I decided to get it!"

"Superman: The Man of Steel is a modern adaptation of the classic Superman tale I read as a kid when they were called comic books. Some of the details vary but the story is essentially the same, told in a way that a middle schooler could easily relate to. Some characters never go out of style."

"Definitely one of the darker takes on Superman, if you're looking for a heroic take on the character, don't get this tale. It's not "mature", it's dark for the sake of being dark. Superman was always a tale of heroism and bravery. Now it's just violent."

"When someone asks me about DC Comics, the first one I will mention is Superman. So in the sense of popularity I can see this being the best comic of all time. I don’t read comics though. "

"This is a good DC comic, although I think it's hard to say if it's the best of all time. There are a lot of good DC comics, but this one is well thought of. "
