"I read my child this book and I was really impressed. It was able to explain to my child why being vegan is so important and why animals do not have to be killed. The concept was simplified, but still effective. I know children do not usually find learning the most fun activity, but this book does not fall prey to this. My daughter wanted me to read the book to her every night and before I knew it I finished it. With the help of this book my daughter has been more open to eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat."

"That's Why We Don't Eat Animals helped me to realize how poor my old diet was for the environment and planet as a whole. I learned a lot reading this book and recommend it to environmentalist's that feed their children a standard Western diet. "

"I love the illustrations of "That's Why We Don't Eat Animals and think it is a great book for teaching kids about vegetarian food choices. I also love the fact that it shows cute animals and not gory pics in the book. I think it is great that the book gets the point and lets children see if the choice of keeping animals and not eating them."

"This is a great book for non-meat eaters to teach their children the reason behind not eating meat. It has cute illustrations."

"The book I believe gives a interesting and kid friendly take on "why we don't eat animals" which is great to let your child make up their mind on the subject. One thing I didn't care for was dolphins and turtles being included since like dogs and cats, they are the line I will never (willing ) cross when eating animals. I also like that they put animals in their natural state. It is a bit narrow minded (being that I am a carnivore) but it is good for my kids to make their own decision so the book helps me explain a side I really can't."

"My coworker who is a hard core vegan read this book to her toddler. She loved it because it helped her explain to her child the essence of being a vegetarian. It's a great book for young kids to understand the meaning behind being a vegetarian."

"My kids love animals so discussing vegetarian and vegan diets with them has been a must recently. 'That's Why We Don't Eat Animals' has been a helpful book for guiding the discussion about different diets and why someone might choose them. With great illustrations and accessible language, this book is a great introduction for little ones to animal rights and environmentalism."

"When me and my wife decided to try veganism a year ago, we knew it would be tough to get our daughter on the train. We found a few other resources , but she seemed to love the stories in this one."

"I have a five-year-old and we are not vegan but I use this book to help explain a broken food system. I think it says for 6 and up but I would use it for 4 years old and up. The illustrations are beautiful and the book just does an excellent job of explaining the harsh reality but without being too scary or gory. I can tell you it's not that easy to find ways or books to explain things like this to children but it's so important. There are a million books for kids on farms and how they operate ideally, a million books about how food grows and all of that but hardly anything about the problems. I wish every book I needed on different topics was this good!"
