"This fiction book takes place during WWII. It was made into a movie that I think was very moving and deep. However, the book is much better. It is kind of sad, but also tells you a lot about the time period."

"While the Book Thief is an excellent book, and one that someone definitely should read, it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I wanted something along the lines of the Avengers where Thanos wants to court actual Death as a person, which this book did not portray as one. Otherwise I would recommend it to someone."

You can feel the struggles of Liesel and she steals and hides, only to live another day. The author's skill in telling such a story, is like music to your eyes. Honestly, this book made me cry. I would keep a copy of this book in my study for ages to come. "

"This is one of the best books I've ever read. Narrated by Death, otherwise known as The Grim Reaper, it focuses on a young girl in Nazi Germany and how she deals with the horrors of the time. It's a book that's in a way difficult to read because at times it's emotionally draining, but it's also warm and uplifting. "

"is it wrong to thirst for knowledge and protect one's right against oppression by stealing books where distribution of such products may be illegal. The line is blur, but the true story in the book thief is the struggle for humans rights and freedom where oppression of Nazi is taking hold in the old germany"

"The author's unusual playful style is in marked contrast with the supposed character of the narrator (Death) or the realities of the 1940's Germany. The way he brings out the hidden good nature of people like the Mayor and his wife or Rosa or some of the street boys is exemplary. His efforts to show that even during the holocaust, Germany did not have just a handful of people quietly rebelling against the perverted misdeeds but many is not something taken up so wonderfully probably ever in popular writing. "The book is narrated by Death, the Grim Reaper. Yet he is not an evil presence, indeed his tender observations are endearing. In the end, the circumstances of 1940s Europe keep him far busier than he’d prefer. Yet he cannot take his eyes off these dismal, glorious humans. Its the best book I’ve read in a year."

"If someone wanted to search for the best depressing books, Amazon is a decent option. You can search by genre to find out what the most popular books are in eat category and from there find summaries, editori and customer reviews and even purchase the book there on the page. "Depressing" isn't a category though so you'll have to get a little creative there in what you decide to search. A topic such as "holocaust" is certain to lead to the results you're looking for."

I look forward to reading it again sometime!"
