What the community says about The Botany of Desire
- "This is a really unique and interesting book that combines information about trees and human nature. It draws connections between plants and humans, which is a very interesting perspective to take. I read this in close to one sitting, just because I was fascinated by the author's unique perspective and the thoughts that he had to share. It definitely made me think, which is more than I can say for most books I read lately. "
- "First of all, if you have never read any of Michael Pollan's books, you are missing out. I would suggest reading The Omnivore's Dilemma first, but this book is very good also. It is a look at how instead of us conquering and "domesticating" four kinds of plants, they have in fact figured out how to use us to propagate their species. The section on apples is my favorite because it seems like this plant completely reinvented itself just so we would enjoy it and spread it around."
- "This is a sweet and easy read with a lot of humor. You have to realize it is a bit of a joke and read it with that mentality but if you do you'll love this read."
- "The Botany of Desire is about the relationship between humans and plants. It's an interesting book for those looking to read more about nature."
