"I had high hopes going in that The Horse and His Boy (Chronicles of Narnia) would be one of the best desert fantasy novels but ended up really disappointed. I did not really connect with this story at all."

"This book has some of C. S. Lewis' best dialogue. The desert is incidental, the cultural side-eye is questionable at best in today's political climate, and Aravis deserved more pages, but the book is still great for the Tisroc's killer one liners."

"The horse and his boy is the third chronicles of narnia book by C.S Lewis. Lewis is and always will be a classic writer. Many find his narnia series to be a wonderful read. If you are even slightly interested in fantasy this is the series for you."

"I kind of just wanted a standalone book about horses. I'm sure this is good, but I don't want to read the preceding two books that don't seem to feature horses! I might give it a go anyway because I like that the horses can talk."

"I love the Chronicles of Narnia, and this probably my least favorite out of all the books in the series. I would have loved it to death if not for the fact that some of Lewis' statements were blatantly racist. Still, it was fun to read about Shasta and Bree the talking horse."
  • Ralph Thompson

"I was pretty surprised to pick this up. The cover actually got me to notice it at barnes and noble and I picked it up and was pretty hooked. I absolutely love chronicles of narnia."

"This is my second favorite book in the series the Chronicles of Narnia. It reminds me a lot of the Adventures of Tom Sawyer. A classic at the time but over the years it has been viewed as racist because of the descriptions of the people the young boy comes into contact with. It is full of childish boy adventures though like sword fights and battles to save the day and the people he loves. "
