"If you love Greek Mythology and you haven't read The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) then you need to get on with it! I absolutely love the rich mythology that is laced through every single page of these books. The characters are 3 dimensional and interesting, the plot is well paced and complex, and the mythology is spot on."

"This is a very exciting series, and I liked every part of it. This is has lot of humor, based on mythological events and it has a great flow. Not to mention the perfect ending. I will strongly recommend."

"I am not really a fan of Percy Jackson books and this books continues to be proof as to why. I felt I knew what would happen before I finished reading because of the whole destiny cliche. I did not find Percy interesting at all, he seemed like a generic hero. I delayed finishing the book, because of my lack of interest. I could have finished it in a week or two, but it ended up taking 2 months to read it. I almost forgot I even owned the book until I saw it laying on my couch. IT is not something I would recommend."

"I think this book would be too much for 8th graders. Its more an action movie and does not go into the history as much. The students will not learn a lot about history. Other books would be better for that"

"This series is a popular series for young adult fiction. This is a great recommendation for an 8th grader."

"I used this book as a teaching tool for my students learning about the Greek gods. The point of the lesson is how influential that period of literature is and how those references and stories are still part of our culture and universally used in literature, art and music today. This book proved that point and helped the students understand what I meant. An excellent way to help students integrate ancient stories and texts into current, modern storytelling. A little simplistic and definitely geared for the younger reader but as important a cultural touchstone as that "other" supernatural children's series!"

"If you're into Greek mythology and having a bunch of characters that are demigods, then I'd recommend The Last Olympian. It's a fun read, and the story line is surprisingly interesting. "

"Exciting finale, lots of conclusions, and the world is saved yet again by Percy and friends. The whole "boy wonder saves the day" plot is tired, but you have to give it to Riordan, he knows how to end an arc with more than a bang, he blows up the pot of gold too. "

"Very pleased with this solution. Anything in regards to mythological creatures and a high adventure is worth my time looking into. Given that this book has been the drive for a previously successful movie, i'll give it a shot. "

"The finale to this series ramps back up to the intensity and excitement of the first book. I loved how he tied it all together for a grand conclusion. This is definitely one of the best YA novels of 2009."

"This is a pretty good solution. The Last Olympian is one of my favorite books of all time. However, I would suggest The Lightning Thief , the book that begins the series, so readers will be fully immersed in the story. That books introduces Greek myths and builds on them over the course of the series."

"If you're like me and like to watch the movie before the book, don't! The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series has a few movies already out, but they don't do the books any justice. Read through all the books before watching the movies and you will not be disappointed!"

"This is a great action book. Good for kids as well, not just YA. I agree it is one of the best, but do be aware that this is the last in the series, so don't miss the others! Also, the link above goes to the audio book, so if you want the print version don't forget to click and change the version :)"

"I think this novel would be perfect to learn about ancient gods and goddesses. The history detailed in the book would provide a lot of info. I can learn a lot about past gods."

"This is the best fiction book that deals with powers from above (angels, gods, demons) out there today. As I was reading this book, I could place myself into Percy's shoes. On your birthday, receiving a prophecy to save the world, or face ultimate destruction? What an incredible challenge to overcome! As I read about my hometown of NYC suffering, collateral damage, I could not believe the accuracy of the author's ideas! I won't spoil the end, but you won't want to put down this book! "

"Percy Jackson and the Olympians has always been a good set of books for early teenagers to read. They are entertaining and well written - plus they don't have too many mature themes in them. The Last Olympian is no different. I would highly recommend it for teens who enjoy Greek mythology."

"This was a great book for a family to read. The Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian is the final installment in the great Percy Jackson series. I have enjoyed this series a great deal and will no doubt read the other Rick Riordan series. My feelings were that each book in the series was better than the one before, I suspect that this could be due to my growing familiarity with the characters. When I read, I try not to over-analysz it too much. My reasons for reading are not to dissect the book and look for faults, but rather to take it at face value and get into the story that's being told. "

"The Percy Jackson series is a young adult fantasy series in a similar vein of Harry Potter. Rather than the wizarding world, there is a world filled with the gods of Mount Olympus and greek culture. If you've enjoyed Harry Potter I highly recommend it."

"Let me just say this: all of you parents that let your children read about WARLOCKS like Percy and Harry Potter should be stoned to death, just the way WARLOCKS would have been back when America was still great. Read the ONLY REAL BOK. THE BIBLE."
