"I'm a history buff so I actively look for novels of a historical nature. This book didn't disappoint. I couldn't put it down which was great for the long commutes I have at times. The plot is good and engaging and while some stories end in a sad manner, there is somehow still room for hope. The book is very well written and the character development is outstanding!"

"What really sets The Lost Crown apart from other retellings of the Anastasia story is the use of multiple points of view. While in other versions, the rest of the family can be neglected in a sort of a broad-stroke "what-a-tragedy-they-died"--The Lost Crown really lets you connect with all four girls and get attached. A must for people who are interested in the Romanov family."

"For some reason my daughter really got interested in this part of history after watching Anastasia. This isn't pure history, of course, but it is a fascinating look at it. We read it together over the course of a few weeks at bedtime and really enjoyed it. "

"I have always like the story of this russian dynasty. It was very interesting to read about the girls of this family. To see them living the life as girls, sisters and little princesses. All of this changes in a minute. It was a very good easy read. "

"I really got absorbed in this book as it fictionally delves into the lives of the grand duchesses, the daughters of the last Tsar of Russia. This book tells a tale of the coming of age of these fascinating young women and is ideal for tweens and teens. You don't have to be afraid of vulgarity or inappropriate scenes with this book."

"Fiction set in this time is one of my favorites. I got so wrapped up in this story that time just flew by. It is so well-written and entertaining."

"Who doesn't know the story of Tsar Nicholas II and his ill-fated family? This novel explores the world of the last Grand Duchesses of the Romanov family and the crucible of war that forged women from pampered teenage girls. It's advertised as a young adult novel, but this middle-aged woman loved every page of it."
