"It was easy to imagine the activities that take place on the moon in this novel. Although I found the revolution and war to be quite complex for me, it is full of action and keeps you wanting to find out what will take place next."

"The title is really poetic but also science fiction. So a lot to think about there. More imaginative stuff is inside the book too! Check it out for sure."

"Heinlein is not one of my favorite authors, and his work comes across as very dated. The ideas and stories just don't hold up well, and this title doesn't either. I don't think anyone should bother with his stuff. It feels very silly."

"I found this to be a pretty average example of 1960's sci fi. If I was going to specifically pick up a Hugo winner, this would not be my first choice, there are better alternatives. "

"I have not read “The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress” by Robert A. Heinlein, although I have read lots of “dark” science fiction novels. I think it would be an interesting book to read from the review you posted, but I could also offer other ideas of “dark” science fiction that I cherish. I would recommend “A land fit for heroes” series by Richard Morgan. I would call it one of my best. “The legend of Zero” by Sara King is also something I would call a best “dark” science fiction. "

"While I haven't read this particular book it does seem to portray how a computer can control things. It might be the precursor of HAL in the 2001 space odyssey movie. "

"While it does have some thought-provoking moments, I can only say that this novel is most valuable for its comedic flair. Sure, we are meant to gawk at this libertarian-ish world and its curious forms of marriage, jury trials, and economy, but that is merely a sideshow to the fantastic story of revolution. The characters and their incredibly hilarious hijinks are worth every penny. I will tell you though, the ending will really have you wishing you could resurrect Heinlein to write the sequel. "

"Who doesn't love a good old fashioned book about anarchy. The odd twist is that this is from a rational point of view, so it is a good and different take on anarchy."
