"This is a great book based on WWII and a family trying to make it during that time. It's not a fast read but it really kept my attention and I wanted to keep reading straight through."

"I'm a sucker for Historical fiction, something about it is just really immersive for me. The Nightingale fits that desire and offers are very interesting tale set in WWII. I've grown very fond of the characters in this book and hope that I'll find the time to read it again in the future."

"Personally, I find books about the lives of people during World War 2 so fascinating. I enjoy both fiction and non fiction stories in the Nazi Germany genre. The Nightingale: A Novel is truly an amazing story of love and strength in the face of war. It's obvious to why it's a New York Times #1 Bestseller and it's soon to become a major motion picture. "

"What's worse than one poorly written love triangle? Two of them, obviously. I was really bored, and needed something to read, and picked this off the shelf at my mom's during a visit. I had to talk with her afterwards about her taste in books, because wow is this book really out there. A period romance, but written with modern love triangles, with modern scenes. I thought the 40s were a time of modesty and chaste desire. Not here; wow if it was any steamier my glasses would've fogged up. The sex is good, but the story's not. That's probably why mom read it, though she told me it was because she liked the cover and period."

"The women within the book have to fight their own way, during the german occupation of france during the second world war. This book isn't specifically about nazis, but they do play a primary role; the book is about the girl's survival."

"For a historical fiction set in France this fits the bill. The story revolves around WWII during the German occupation. Tense and sad with good character development. I read it everyday at lunch. "

"Make sure to read this book. That way when the movie comes out you can be the first one to tell all your friends that "the book was WAY better". Finally you can get that instant satisfaction of being able to go against the mainstream reviews and talk about a subject that nobody cares about! Yay you!"
