"An authentic tale of palace intrigue. A historical fiction novel that gets its facts straight."

"Mary Boleyn comes across as a very sympathetic character overall, and we get to see Anne through her eyes, the good and the bad. While highly fictionalized (it's historical fiction, after all) this book does slide in a lot of historical context, dates, and references that are very factual. I'm a huge historical fiction fan and I found this one a page-turner. "

"My friend suggested that I read The Other Boylen Girl so I did. It was semi interesting. I felt like there was too much politics for my taste, and I wouldn't want to read it again. I do like that I could get it as an aduiobook for my kindle to listen to when I wanted to relax."

"A great story for anyone interested in the Tudor era and historical fiction in general. The author weaves a tale of political intrigue and romance and fleshes out the characters so the listener can truly understand the characters of this time period."

"I reread this historical drama while on a short trip. I remember reading this book around 2001 when I was a senior in High School and it was my favorite! Intrigue, scandal, and of course greed-what more could you ask for! I'm sure you have heard of Anne Bolen, but have you heard of Mary? This is so much better than the movie!"

"I thought the solution was not broad enough. There was not enough information about Mary Boleyn. There should have a explanation about who she was and what role she played in the family. I did not find this solution very helpful. "

"The Other Boleyn Girl was surely one of the standout of 2001. This period drama had all the pieces that made so you couldn't put it down. The family was messed up to say the least and it made for excellent drama."

"I think this story might be real but it is not interesting. The narration was boring and I just felt like I wanted it to end as soon as possible. The fact that it is real does not mean that it has to be boring, but unfortunately that was the case here so I don't recommend it. I would have rathered being eaten by a shark! lol"

"Real life girl, but enough not-real story to it to make it interesting. Holds your attention without being over-the-top. A great choice. "

"Everyone's heard of Anne Boleyn, but this book proves that the lesser known people can sometimes be the most interesting. I really enjoyed this book, and finding out all the "behind the scenes" info of history is always a pleasure."

"I did not like it mainly because I feel that the kindle book is not interesting and the topic is boring. I think there are other family sagas with much more drama that can drive you nuts or keep you on the edge, but this is not that kind of saga, just skip it."

"The Other Boleyn Girl was certainly a book that satisfied my search for a book with 'girl' in the title. Not only did it have 'girl' in the title, but it was an interesting story of an often forgotten girl. Mary Boleyn was a pawn for her family's political ambitions, but persevered through all that was associated with being the sister of Ann Boleyn."

"This book may be an "alternative history", or it may be an accurate presentation of the political intrigue of the era. Whatever you believe, it is an interesting account, albeit somewhat long and drawn out. If you like historical studies of the Tudor era as much as I, you ought to give it a try."
  • Stephanie Griffin

"This is an interesting book. I always like reading something written from the perspective of someone who isn't the main character. However, calling it one of the best historical novels of all time is really pushing it."
