"It's hard to believe this classic has turned 50 years old. But then it is credited with redefining the young adult genre. The themes here seem to easily transcend the generations."

"The Outsiders is a classic, full stop. The fact that S.E. Hinton was a teenager herself when she started writing this story of two rival gangs is almost unbelievable and certainly makes my teenage accomplishments pale in comparison. If you haven't read this book, read it now. If you have, you owe it to yourself to read it again."

"I was recommended this from the young adult section, so I decided to pick this up for my son. One I got it I decided to read it before I gave it to him. This book is complete garbage, it offers nothing a boy can take from it that isn't absolutely degenerate. I will be asking for a refund as I don't think this is suitable for teenagers."

"Finding books can be tough for young teens. Sometimes it requires the help of others who have already read it first. The Outsiders is a great recommendation for young teens. It's a story about a kid who doesn't quite fit in. Well written and better read!"

"I loved this book when I was in high school. I thought it was a well-told story that helped you to identify with all the characters. I couldn't put it down when I was reading it. "

"Interesting book but I could not get into it. Maybe because it's set in the 1950s. This was before I was born so it's kind of hard to connect with it. Although it was hard to connect with the characters, it did make me think about people that I know. I believe that everyone at some point in life feels like an outsider."

Gang fighting and rumbles are still happening everywhere especially high schoolers. Nice story showing both sides on a personal level that is relatable. This book has won awards and is a must read. "

"The main character Ponyboy finds himself in a society where he doesn't fit in. His two brothers and two friends spend this book in conflict with a gang of rich white kids called the Socs. Labeled a "greaser" he is subject to verbal and physical abuse from the Socs. One night, however, things, take a turn for the worse when someone takes it too far."
