"An interesting view of a classic character. It shows sides that are rarely written about."

"The Picture of Dorian Gray is no longer considered a literally work that causes scandal, as it did when Oscar Wilde first published the book in 1890, due to opinions of it was a book of corruption and immorality. Today, it is book that I would definitely recommend for people that enjoy suspense and some Gothic aspects. Ironically, it's a story many can relate to in today's world - the lengths people would go in order to be beautiful and stay young. A must read!"

"If you are looking for a good modern library classic book, than I suggest The Picture of Dorian Gray. Oscar Wilde’s story of a fashionable young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty is the author’s most popular work. Ir was scandalous when it first was printed. "

"This was an interesting book. It's the first work of Wilde's that I've read, and the first classic I've finished in a long time, probably since high school. I am glad that I read it. There was a part in the middle that I was really bored with, but other than that, it was an interesting read. I enjoyed Dorian Gray as a character, as well as Lord Henry. I at 47 decided it is time to read some classics and I am glad I chose this as one of the 1st on my list"

I have read it probably three times now, and I'm sure I'll be pulling it off of the shelf again before it needs any dusting off! Definitely pick this up if you come across it!"

"This is a classic book written by Oscar Wilde who may better be known for his humorist essays and writings. This, however, is a deep and intriguing work that provides a concept large enough to appeal to anyone engaged enough to follow along and consider the results."

"The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde is one of my favorite dark classic books of all time. It is an insightful and cautionary tale of a despicable man who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for eternal beauty and youth. It was written more than a hundred years ago but the author's perception of humanity still loudly resonates today. The ending to this dark story was really poetic and just. I loved it and felt it was entirely fitting."

"Yes, there are some horror elements here. But I feel like you wouldn't classify this as an actual horror novel. You'd think something like IT, or The Shining or something along those lines. It's a terrific book, but I don't feel it's a horror novel."

"I am one of the people who looks up to the people with the likes of Oscar Wilde, with that said, this is also extremely relevant to gothic books and yes, I would say this is recommended to the specific topic at hand. The Picture of Dorian Gray is well, about Dorian Gray, and the way the book depicts Dorian Gray is definitely interesting."
