What the community says about The Problem of Pain
- "I prefer The Four Loves summarizes four kinds of human love--affection, friendship, erotic love, and the love of God. Masterful without being magisterial, this book's wise, gentle, candid reflections on the virtues and dangers of love draw on sources from Jane Austen to St. Augustine. The chapter on charity (love of God) may be the best thing Lewis ever wrote about Christianity. "
- "This book is hard to read at times considering a lot of the things in it will resonate with everyone on some level. It's a great book with great content and advice to help people cope with the pain that comes along with life."

in What are the best christian books"C. S. Lewis tackles an issues that confounds modern society in a very well written manner. I often wonder about this very topic and he has really put a healing spin on it. I recommend this book for both Christians and non-Christians trying to grapple with human suffering."
- "I don't know if this is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something inspirational that would bring me closer to the Lord's light, but this book is all about suffering, and even though it has a positive perspective, it's not exactly what I was looking for. And it's way too expensive...not an awful choice, but I do regret my purchase."
