"I was just a few pages into this book when I saw why this book has sold over 1 million copies: it's really powerful, not that it changes your outlook on faith and worship, just on what to prioritize for you and your Christian friends."

"Saying that this is the best book by Rick Warren doesn't mean much. It's like saying an old shoes is the best piece of trash, it's still trash. His philosophy is horrible and he leads a dangerous path. Warren is no different that the televangelists begging for money on TV. He is more interested in making money and felling good than he is in a true spiritual relationship with God."

"I myself am not a Christian, but I do have several friends who are, so this was picked up for one of those friends as a birthday gift. They really enjoyed the book a great deal, though they found some of the concepts a bit outdated. Enjoyed the message and the book though, so success!"

"I think this book is an okay solution for me. It is definitely meant for Christians, but it isn't really specified for teenaged girls. The writing it a little dry to interest youth such as my daughter, but it's still on topic."

"I love this book for its focus on the health/biblical purposes of the church before growth. I've attended churches where the leaders just wanted to expand whatever they considered the clearest sign of a 'growing' church regardless of the current state and it usually led to the rest of the church suffering at the expense of a new program or bigger building. It's good to have goals, and i understand the desire for a tangible 'growth' goal like a building fund, but ultimately i think many churches would benefit from putting purpose first and having other goals uphold their purposes."

"Written by Rick Warren, this book is built around the five New Testament purposes given to the church by Jesus. I found this outline as to the purpose of a church extremely helpful as it is clearly written and easy to follow. The book is a practical guide but also discusses salvation and fellowship service. I found this to be an insightful book with many practical ideas for growing a church."
