"The Selection is the perfect dystopian fiction novel. It has the right amount of action and adventure. It's also a very moving love story at it's core."

"This is what I expected, a shallow novel with shallow characters. I'm not saying I didn't like it because I did. I wanted an easy read that did not tax my thought processes too much. It's a descent light read for anyone who likes Condie, which I do when I'm in the mood. "

"If you're looking for a great Cinderella kind of fairy tale romance, then the best book is The Selection. It's a great mix between fantasy and romance which is beautifully written by Kiera Cass. I really enjoyed the story and the descriptions the author has used throughout the book."

"I hated every second of this book. I'm really not sure why I continued reading it. The basis of the book about girls vying for the attention of this prince just felt so antiquated, "

"The Selection is a very intriguing YA novel that is romantic in nature while still maintaining a very interesting story line for those that are not into romance novels. The competition that America Singer goes through is quite intense and grueling and makes the latter half of the book quite gripping as she find's Prince. "

"Interesting book about a competition for a Princes love. This isn't really my type of book but I thought it was entertaining for what it was."

"The Selection is a bit of weird book; I found the gender politics a bit retrograde. I wish it had deconstructed some of the rules of the world a bit more. As it is, the female characters all felt empty to me and without any real motivation of their own."

"A fiery redhead here to change the whole game! This book is 2 parts dystopian youth fiction and 1 part The Bachelor. It's a fun, breezy read that I would recommend."

"This read like a goofy story of women fighting over one guy. I could not take it too seriously. On that note, it's an okay book if you just want some cheap entertainment value."

"An interesting book for teens or young women. The plot is a bit generic like a reality tv show. "

"This book is great for young women to read and everyone in general, but if you are looking for a great female protagonist, America Singer fits that description well. The book centers on a competition called The Selection. 25 women compete for a chance to be with Prince Maxon. America is already in love with another man and doesn't find this opportunity appealing, until she eventually meets Prince. Her struggle to deal with her feelings and how she overcomes the obstacles makes for an interesting tale that kept me hooked."

"This one seemed to start out pretty good. Has an interesting cast of characters, who live in an interesting world. It was good for a while, but seemed to go on a bit too long for my liking. Still a good read. Just be sure you like long drawn out story scenarios."

"If you like romantic fantasies you will enjoy this book. Personally I do not and found it to be somewhat patronizing, promoting the idea that all women need a good man to fulfill them. The New York Times liked it though."

"I truly enjoy dystopian fiction and this was recommended to me by a friend. It is ayoung adult style novel and the setting is not what you usually expect a dystopian world to be. It is full of romance and beauty, politics and classes. The character depth and story line is there though so as long as you can get past the non-typical dystopia than you might really enjoy this one."

"I finally sat down to read this book and I freaking loved it so much that I had to read it all in a day because I simply refused to put it down. A beautifully written story line that quickly found me endearing myself to America as she is someone people could actually look up to."
