"That such a book could be even called a historical novel blows my mind. Sure, there are long dresses, fitted bodices and horses sprinkled through the premises, and the male main character is a prince, but that's about as far as it goes down the historical path. The rest is a typical romance tale of sweet and innocent (but smart) women falling for dastardly and so handsome dominant males. And of course beautiful and explosive love ensues, because that's what pays the rent right? For the author and the publisher I mean. I knew I should not invest even a minute of my time given the cover art, but my sister-in-law insisted that it was pretty good and I felt it would be nice to at least give it a try. My bad."

"You can't top this book's version of the meetcute--heroine literally stumbles over a naked, seemingly dead man. Naturally, they fall in love and are perfect complements to each other. Add in a quest for revenge, and you've got an exciting pageturner."

"This easily fulfills the topic the solution provides. There is in fact revenge in the book. Romance is a part of it as well. They mix well together as a subgenre and it looks like a promising book. Only thing is the reviews are below 4 but it might still be an interesting read."

"It took me a long time to get through this book. There were long boring parts and I didn't care much about the characters. In truth the only reason I finished it is because it bothers me to not finish reading a book once I start it. Not much of a page turner in my opinion. "

"I purchased this book on Amazon and it met my expectations for a historical love story. I like that it is a trilogy, so I can continue to be a part of the story and move on to the next part of this adventure/love story. "

"I was reading this book and totally enjoying it but the part where Simon bloodlust for revenge came up i do not think it was well written. I have to say 80% of the book is what i expected of it and totally enjoyed it but that part could have been written a little better with a little more intent and purpose . But in general i do not find it to be such a bad book overall. "
