What the community says about The Stranger Beside Me
- "I love a true crime and this book was AMAZING!!! It follows Ted Bundy who is a law student by day and notorious serial killer by night. It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. Ted Bundy is so well known in history and this book was a real insight to his deeper side. Of all of Ann Rule's books, The Stranger Beside Me is my favorite. Very well-written and full of interesting information. This will be a very good read if you like true-crime books. Highly recommended!"
- "Absolutely one of the best books about Ted Bundy's life and crimes. Ann Rule, who knew him personally, is the best true crime writer of the 20th century. She covers Bundy's entire life and details of his horrible crimes, including all the nitty-gritty parts of the courtroom hearings. Not only that, but she includes photographs. Excellent choice to read for those fascinated by true crime."
- "I read this per the recommendation of my life, she is infatuated with novels about serial killers. I admit, at first I was skeptical. I didn't think it would be a good book, however, I powered through so that she wouldn't be mad at me. I loved the book. Ted Bundy was such an interesting character and he was REAL. It was so interesting that he had worked at a crisis hotline even though he was committing heinous crimes. The fact the he was so charming and well put together really added to this. Any woman would believe themselves to be the luckiest woman alive if they were to date him. However, he was one of the most prolific killers in recent memory. This book is told from a first-hand perspective which makes it even more interesting. This is no biography, this is a story. Some moments are jarring and some moments even elicit sympathy for him. Terrifying read, be warned, you will be wondering if your coworkers are killers after reading this."
