"19th century settings in books are not my thing. Either go back to ancient or medieval times, or make the setting modern or future. Horse drawn carriages, huge dresses, and all the pomp is not very appealing."

"The gilded age is an age that goes back to the 1800's. This book occurs in the 1888 which is proper. I never have read it but it fits the topic."

"This was a pretty good book. Had some suspense, mystery, murder and was set back in the 1800's. Much different than what I usually read and I loved that it has a rose on the cover. I love roses and that was a great added benefit."

"I finished this book by Jennifer Donnely with a heavy heart. Plight of Fiona kept daunting me for days. It is well written I felt i was in the darkness of that old city. Certainly intriguing and would suggest reading it."

"If you are into suspense this is a great read. The book has a lot going on at once but still easy to keep up with. It was a great book that kept me interested throughout. I would recommend this to anyone. "

"A compelling historical romance set in 1888 London. A must read."

"The Tea Rose is a romantic fiction book written for the late 1800s time period. While I enjoy historical books, I really don't like ones that are factual. I would rather read some non-fiction books about that time period, instead of a romance fiction. Other people might enjoy it though."

"I absolutely love this series! I like the fact that the protagonist is a female and is in a very historical era. A must read for people of all ages!"
