"A very popular young adult book about vampires and the supernatural. They are heroines that are very young and virgins."

"Although everyone seems to love this series, I have some reservations about the ages of the people in love. If he is a vampire, isn't he hundreds of years old and she is just a teenager? The age gap seems way too large for me to be comfortable. "

"Twilight is hardly the best at anything. The writing is poor and the situation is laughable. The characters are like cardboard and you're better off with pretty much ANY book."

"The "Twilight" series has been criticized a lot in the past and I wanted to see if the criticism was valid by reading the first book and turns out that criticism was valid. This has to be one of the worst fantasy romance books and books in general I have ever read. I decided to read the book, while I watched bits and pieces of the film and that turned out to be a bad idea. I wanted to see what was changed in the movie adaption, but I was too frustrated by the book's writing to pay attention. Bella was a damsel in distress who could not do anything on her own, which I found annoying. The plot was bad and even the vampires were boring. I would not recommend this book to anyone."

"I prefer characters with a bit more angst and depth. These characters are pretty perfect. There isn't much that's not easily resolved and the characters don't have any real issues, unless you count the fact that Edward is a vampire and drinks blood. But hey, that's easily enough overlooked, right? It's definitely worth a read if you're looking for semi-flawless characters."

"Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series chronicles the story of love between a female student, Bella Swan, and a male vampire, Edward Cullen. This is the first tome in the series of four and sets the fictional stage for what is to come. Supernatural fans will love it. High marks for both her writing and imagination."

"This is a terrible YA romance novel because it started out as Harry Potter fan fiction, not an original concept. Then the author spun their religious beliefs into it, so it's more damsel in distress than anything. The writing is also subpar, so I would recommend you look elsewhere."

"Before this was turned into a movie, I have already read this first book and I was disappointed that the movie was not able to adapt the book. Twilight book is extremely better than the movie version, and it's kinda upsetting to know that one of your favourite books turned out to be a bad film. If you're into vampire and werewolf, I would recommend this book!!"

"I've been looking into books about overly protective boyfriends because I was told I was overly protective and felt maybe I can find a little advice from some books. Twilight definitely fits the bill but overall I can't say I enjoyed this book to much. It's completely silly and over the top and I find the romance scenes to be forced. Very obvious this book is for young woman."

"This was given to me as a gift from a friend. Knowing my love of fantasy and supernatural stories, she thought I would like this one and I tried, boy did I try. The first half of this book was so slow. It was all detailed accounts of what Bella did at school, what she made for dinner, and countless conversations with friends and various male admirers. Which probably would have been fine if Bella was even remotely likable. Nope, much like the book she was bland and shallow almost to the point of being annoying. I decided to just flip through the rest. Even skimming it felt like a waste of time. The book is fine for teenagers but I would not recommend it."

Anytime it is a rainy day and I am feeling lonely, I reach for this book and the saga begins again. If you are looking to read an intriguing romance, then this is the book for you. Great beach read!"

"Vampires DO NOT sparkle. Twilight, a book for teens, follows the main heroine as she moves to a new town and meets and falls for a mysterious boy. The story is their budding relationship and love story. It's reasonably well written and the plot moves at a good pace. But if you enjoy vampire mythology, it ruins them. "

"I read this novel back when I was in highschool when everyone was crazy about vampires. The story involves a awkward high school teen who falls for her classmate who is secretly a vampire. There are four books in the series which have been made into five films. I enjoyed the books initially but after the second book, it felt like the writer is just stretching the story to make more money and in the process ruined the over all appeal of the vampire story. "

"Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) is the first book in the series by Stephenie Meyer. It is available from Amazon for $10.59. It is the story of a transfer student falling in love with a vampire. This is the book that spawned a very popular set of movies. If you enjoy romance stories then this is probably worth adding to your collection."

"I have to admit the twilight covers are amazing. This was the best book of the saga. After an accident that puts Bella's life in jeopardy, Edward decides that for her safety he must leave Bella. Alone Bella becomes closer to Jacob Black and learns more about the La Push natives. That description of what the book is about doesn't do justice to the book, the book is a lot more interesting than that. I like Meyer's spin on werewolves and why they change and how they interact. Bella becomes more believable and has more human emotions. I liked the heartbreak, Meyer did a good job with Bella's feelings and actions and we can understand why she does the things she does. We get past superficial emotions to Bella's turmoil. This is Meyer's best writing and best plot. Some might thing this book is the most boring of the saga because there is very little Edward and the story might move slowly but it is the most moving of the books, I cried a lot during this one where all I felt upon reading the other ones was mild entertainment. I would recommend this for teenage girls (12-13)."

"When it comes to books that start with T, few are more famous than Twilight. This book kicked off the series by Stephenie Meyer that was turned into three blockbuster movies. The writing is geared toward young adults which means it’s both really easy to read, and not overly deep. Twilight focuses on a high school girl named Bella Swan who falls in love with a Vampire named Edward Cullen. Edward and his family of vampires live, go to school, and work like normal people but they have been living for thousands of years. The Cullens are good vampires that choose to hunt animals instead of humans, but they soon find that is not the case for every vampire in the world. If you like romance, drama, and and easy read, give Twilight a try."

A part of me wishes I would have stopped by half price books to pick up the novels but it was great having it delivered and matching for 30 some odd dollars. One star off because the back page (the red side) chips away easily. I have only held them and bookmarked them and the back looks worn. Otherwise, I'm happy with my purchase."

"I did not start reading the Twilight series until after the first movie had come out. At the time, I really enjoyed the books (hated the movies, but loved the books). However, now as I reread parts of the book when I am bored, I wonder why I liked it so much. The story is entertaining, but not as well written as other books that I have read (the quality of writing is not as good as say "Ranger's Apprentice" or "Mara Daughter of the Nile"). This is very much a romance story; the action takes second stage, and it is for this reason that I think it would be appropriate for children 15+. Personally, I believe that children under 15+ do not need to be exposed to this type of romance. While there is nothing immoral or inappropriate about their relationship in the books, I just believe that there is no need to expose preteens to this type of relationship. (Maybe I am just lucky in that my siblings are not interested in exploring books and movies with this type of serious romantic obsession, but I do believe that at the pre-teen age, children do not need to be thinking or exploring the idea of a "serious" romantic interest). Furthermore, I do not like how Bella (the main character) is deceptive and lies at times. There is one time in the book where Bella was cornered by three males in a dark alley. While Edward (the male character) saves her life, she does not tell her father about what happened when she gets home. Personally, I believe this does not set a good example for children/teens. When something of that seriousness occurs, it is very important to let an adult figure head known and not try and solve it/deal with it on your own. So, while this book is okay for older teens and is entertaining for adults, I do not believe it would be appropriate for children under 15 due to the fact that it exposes pre-teens to "serious" relationships, lying, and deception."

"One of my favorite intense and angsty romance novels, Twilight is the one that started it all, and broke the genre into the mainstream. The idea of a teen girl falling in love with an old vampire has become cliche now, but when it comes to dark romance, it's hard to go wrong with this genre staple. "

The girl, Bella, falls in love with a vampire, Edward, who resists turning her. She's also in love with another vampire guy as well, so there's a love triangle. Overall a great book."
