"I loved her book Seabiscuit and I loved this one even more. The story is an amazing one of determination and survival. Just the story about the delinquent becoming an Olympian is amazing but add to it the downed airman in the shark-infested sea fighting for sheer survival. Whew!"

"I love to get audio books to listen to during my commute. I downloaded Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival. When you read this you'll be amazed at the absolute punishment that a human can endure. You'll read in details about the cruelty of the Japanese military during WWII and you'll read about the profound impact that war can have on an individual's health and spirit and then after listening to hundreds and hundreds of pages about tragedy and hardship the book tells a very brief story of redemption and forgiveness. This story is sad and depressing, but we can't always read sunshine and rainbows "

"This is an amazing read that tells the story of the life of a real hero. The book centers on Louis Zamperini, a war hero who ran in the Olympics and later in life endured the horrors of war on his way to becoming highly decorated for his service. I think that fans of history and biography will love this book for its story and for the skillful writing. "

"This is the best book I have ever read about WWII. When a book is really good I will get lost in the story and knock it out in one go. Trading sleep for completion of a riveting story. This was one of those rare books for me. Highly recommended."

"I love History so I was real excited to read Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival. I usually read about the eastern front but the war in the pacific is interesting also. I thought the telling of the story was very engaging and different than some of the european recollections I read. I am happy I read it and that it kind of had a happy ending. "

"Angelina Jolie was married to Billy Boy Thorton, who wrote, directed, and starred in the movie Sling Blade. This movie was filled with simplistic life horror and heroism. Billy Boy won an Oscar. The last movie that someone wrote, director, and starred in was Sly Stallone in Rocky - also an Oscar winner. Angelina Jolie directoral debut failed short per the critics and box office. "
