in What are the best baseball books
- "I think this book is very good for pre-teen kids. It is very easy to read, and very interesting till the end. It shows how problems can make the road more difficult for anybody, but working as a team is a good way to confront the adversity. Even though it is not too realistic, it can help to seed good values for kids this age. If it was a bit more realistic, I would give it a 5, but, no complains, it is very good book."
- "I never got into baseball and was sort of bummed that my nephew did get into so much when he was a kid. I managed to bridge the gap a little bit with things like this. The book is about a baseball team, yes, but it's a fun read and there's a bit of magic involved as well. We had a good time with it. It's a good fit for kids who are nine years old."
- "OH, this is great book for 7 year olds, especially those who are sports minded. It is a third in a series called "Sluggers" so you may want to start with the first , but it's not necessary. I teach fourth grade and this is always a " first grab" during silent reading."
